Dr. Valerie Sams is Colonel in the United States Air Force and a Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon at the University of Cincinnati and is the Director for the Air Force Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills (CSTARS) Cincinnati, home of the military’s advanced course for Critical Care Air Transport. She has faculty appointments with USUHS (Associate Professor), UC Health (Adjunct Associate Professor), US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (Professor). She is returning to San Antonio, Texas this summer to assume the role as the next Chief of the DoW’s Joint Trauma System.
